Tribe releases poll that shows support for proposed casino near Glendale

An Indian tribe released a poll Monday that it says shows strong public support for its proposed casino bordering Glendale, just hours before a congressional bill to stop the project was to be heard.

The poll, commissioned by the Tohono O’odham Nation, told respondents the project would bring 9,000 permanent and temporary jobs, infuse $300 million annually into the economy and bring additional dining and retail outlets to Glendale’s sports-and-entertainment district.
