Vote in Congress fails to quell casino talk — Daily News-Sun

Glendale Councilman Gary Sherwood still supports talking with the Tohono O’odham Nation about a West Valley casino despite this week’s vote on Capitol Hill to block the tribe’s plans for the resort.

Sherwood, who had been opposed to the casino, said it’s time to have a dialog with the tribe because the city has been unsuccessful in court in several attempts to thwart the Tohono O’odham’s plans and the likelihood of the U.S. Senate or Obama administration approving the House-passed measure are not good.
